Week 1: The Power of Self-Love Through Skincare

Week 1: The Power of Self-Love Through Skincare

💛 Honoring the women who built rituals of care

Self-Care is Not Selfish—It’s Sacred

For centuries, women have passed down beauty rituals not just to enhance skin but to create moments of peace and healing. From the shea butter traditions of West Africa to the ancient Egyptian use of oils and clays, skincare has always been more than vanity—it’s a form of self-love and preservation.

But in today’s fast-paced world, we often rush through skincare, treating it as another task rather than a moment to nurture ourselves. Let’s change that.

Your Self-Love Skincare Ritual

This week, create a skincare ritual that’s intentional and soul-nourishing. Here’s how:

Set the Mood – Light a candle, play calming music, or breathe deeply before you begin.
Choose Products That Love You Back – Use clean, nourishing ingredients that make your skin feel amazing (check out the DIY body butter below!).
Apply With Intention – As you massage in oils or butters, say affirmations: "My skin is loved. I am deserving of care."
End With Gratitude – Take a moment to thank your body for all it does for you.

  • 5 drops rose essential oil (self-love, healing)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler.
  2. Let it cool slightly, then add the sweet almond/jojoba oil and essential oils.
